What are the guidelines that I should follow to become a good Home Tutor ?

Rendering the gift of knowledge is considered to be one of the noble profession in this world. Teaching is one profession which creates all other professions. Tutor being the true manifestation of such profession has the responsibility to uphold the same. Here are some guidelines laid down by Nexus for our tutors.

Academics

  • Prepare your lesson plan in advance.
  • Give brief introduction of the new concept or chapter which you are about to deliver.
  • Take a review of the last session and discuss the objective of the current class.
  • Take test periodically to check student’s progress.

Respect

“Respect begets Respect”

  • Always treat your Customer/Student with respect.
  • Always address them Sir/Madam.
  • Refrain from physical touch/hitting/using harsh words, be sensitive with your students.

Appearance

“First impression is the last impression”

  • Dress formally and talk politely.
  • Always maintain good hygiene.

Punctuality

“Punctuality is an essential trait of a teacher.

It is a foundation not an embellishment”

  • Mark leave at least 24 hours before.

Professionalism

  • Do not accept any personal gift / favours from customers; keep your relation strictly professional.
  • Any leave taken by you should be compensated.
  • Do not use mobile while delivering the class unless essential.
  • Involve parents regularly.
  • Analyze strength and weakness of the pupil.
